Everything Changes

The more messed up this world gets, the more God makes sense.

Help, I'm a loser!

Thursday, August 24, 2006
Today I saw a woman wearing hickeys on her neck like precious jewels.

I saw a dad smoking up with his teenaged son.

I saw an elderly man picking flowers in a public park.

I saw a sandwich artist prepare someone's food without washing his hands.

Loser.

Red and yellow, black and white, all are precious in God's sight? Really?!

[Selah.]

How responsible are we, as individuals, to learn? Or to break free from destructive patterns? What if we're just dumb. What if we can't see them? Is it someone else's responsibility to point them out?

And, if so, at what level of relationship is this permitted? Do people need to get real close before they can rightfully point out the faults of others? Or are we allowed to fault-find at all?

And what exactly is the difference between "helping" someone "change their ways" and "become a better person" vs. "judging not lest we be judged?"
"Everything is permissible" — but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible" — but not everything is constructive.

1 Corinthians 10:23

Maybe I'M a loser because of things I do!

Loser.

THIS & THAT

Tuesday, August 01, 2006
But then there is THAT.

There is THIS, and there is THAT.

THAT. In my head.

It's the opposite of THIS.

THIS is Godly. THIS is anointed.

THAT is not.

And sometimes THAT overwhelms me.
I do not understand THAT. I do THAT and hate it. When I want to do THIS, THAT is there with me.

Romans 7:15, 21

THAT tries to tempt me. Make me stumble and change direction.

But THIS comes and rescues me when I do.

Thank God.
